What are the legal requirements for a civil wedding in Cyprus, and when do we need to arrive?

Getting legally married in Cyprus is wonderfully straightforward, but it does require precise paperwork. You will need your valid passports, long-form birth certificates, and a Certificate of No Impediment (or Single Status Statutory Declaration) stamped with an Apostille. If either of you has been previously married, a Decree Absolute is also required.

Because most of our couples opt for a Special Marriage License, Cyprus law requires you to be in the country for at least three working days before your ceremony to submit your documents in person. You don’t need to worry about navigating the local municipality, though—as your planners, we provide a crystal-clear timeline of when to acquire your documents, and we personally accompany you to the town hall to ensure the process is entirely stress-free.
